Being a part our Armed Services you very well know that every Active Duty family’s situation is unique, and there is no common scenario of a deployment. Some families are on or near a military installation that provides a Family Readiness Group (FRG) or other resources. There are many, however, that are removed from such resources. What’s more, being away from a military installation creates the added struggle of loneliness…that there is no one who really understands.
There are other factors that make each deployment unique. A Soldier may leave behind a girlfriend, a fiancé, a spouse, younger children, older children, grandchildren, parents. Sometimes the spouse left behind is the husband, and sometimes both spouses are deployed. The family may have health issues to deal with in addition to coping with the deployment. That’s why the NPCC is here. We have done our best to include a variety of resources and innovative programs that will bring the help that you and others will need and look forward to.
If you or one of your loved ones is going through a deployment we hope that through our site you will find an understanding of your situation…you are not alone. Many of you are not near a military installation and the resources it might offer, and for those who are, perhaps this will provide added ideas or resources that you could share with your friends and members of your FRG. There are a lot of resources out there, but who has the time to search for them during a deployment. If you are on your own in a community that is not near a military installation, you may feel very alone in what you are going through. It is our hope and prayer that this website will give you some feeling of connection and also help you to easily connect to resources that may better equip you through a deployment. If you are new to the military community, the NPCC hopes that we can help you fond the resources and support that will help you to not just cope with the military lifestyle, but to thrive. Being an NPCC member is an awesome step to take in the right direction.
We offer a variety of programs and services to support the morale, welfare, and recreational needs of troops and their families, free of charge. Through a diverse group of programs offerings, NPCC volunteers express our nation’s gratitude and appreciation for the service and sacrifice of Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard, and their families. These programs are available for the entire family and throughout the entire cycle of military service. Additional support is provided for military appreciation and patriotic events, transition workshops, Family Readiness Groups (FRGs), and mobilizations to name a few.
Many times each year at NPCC locations we will help lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families. The NPCC provides valued programs and services to troops and their families, and we help channel the American public’s desire to give back to those who serve our country into programs and services that enrich their lives. A nonprofit, private organization, the NPCC relies on the generosity of individuals, churches, organizations, small businesses and corporations to support its activities. The NPCC is not part of the U.S. government, but it will partner with many state and federal institutions to bring a more powerful way to help.
